Beach, Surf Siargao
Siargao Island is the must-see surfing island in the Philippines!
Located in the province of Surigao del Norte, Siargao is known as one of the best surfing spots in the world: you will enjoy watching experienced surfers ride the biggest waves at Cloud 9 Pier and Pacifico or get started by taking surfing lessons from the locals! The waves are perfect for both pros and amateurs!
Siargao, the island you will fall in love with!
Located in the northeast of Mindanao, Siargao is a tropical island known for its perfect waves, turquoise lagoons and lush vegetation. Much more than just a surfer destination, Siargao offers a relaxed atmosphere and unspoiled nature with its mangroves, white sand islands and natural pools.
Whether you are a surfing enthusiast, a secret beach explorer or a marine life enthusiast, Siargao has it all. Its laid-back pace of life and natural beauty make it a haven for adventurers and sun worshippers.
Although Siargao is a remote island, it has a thriving culinary scene and several trendy restaurants. Be warned, though, the electricity can sometimes be cut off for short periods of time due to the island’s location. So it’s a great excuse to disconnect!
An island full of adventures!
Before giving you the details on the activities to do, we invite you to read the Essentials of our travel guide to Siargao right here!
There are different places to explore in Siargao Island, the best way to travel? Scooter or motorbike! But the locals also provide complete tours by van or jeepney!
Go on an adventure: cliff jump, surf, scuba dive or snorkel and swim in the various lagoons and natural pools, such as Magpungko Rock Pools and Tangyaban Cave Pools.
Islands and beaches to explore!
You can take an island hopping tour on a boat to Naked Island, Guyam Island and Daku Island, which includes pick-up, drop-off and seafood lunch. You can take the opportunity to explore Sohoton 2 hours away from these islands; discover the Luminous Cave, jump from a small cliff and enjoy the green nature.
Take a trip to Siargao’s only waterfall, Tak Tak Falls, a full-day adventure in the northern part of the island where you can do some cliff jumping!
Siargao is also the perfect place to admire sunsets along the beach.
A welcoming community and a local spirit that respects the environment
Finally, since the release of the local Filipino movie Siargao, the island has become very popular and welcomes many travelers and partygoers! Many tourists compare the main street of General Luna to Bali because of its restaurants of all kinds: Italian, European, Filipino, BBQ, vegan, and its dance bars! It’s up to you to judge! But Siargao remains an authentic and unique island thanks to its warm, welcoming and smiling surfer community!
So, as visitors, let’s respect its environment by not throwing plastic anywhere and help the locals to preserve the natural resources and beauty of Siargao Island. #Savesiargao
